FAQs
Question: What sizes of sheds do you have?
Answer: At Select Sheds, we have backyard sheds available in a huge range of sizes. Everyone's storage needs are different, so we offer something for everybody! We have sheds as small as 4 ft. x 2 ft., or as large as 12 ft. x 20 ft., and we even offer storage chests for those of you looking for some small patio storage. Browse our sheds by size to find one that is the size you're looking for.
Question: What materials are the sheds at Select Sheds made of?
Answer: Our backyard sheds are made with a variety of materials, each having their own unique advantages. We have sheds made of metal, wood, vinyl, plastic, and resin. For more information on the different types of materials, visit our Buyer's Guide.
Question: Can I assemble my shed myself, or do I need to hire a professional?
Answer: While hiring a professional will certainly make it easier on you, it isn't necessary. Our sheds are designed for simple assembly. Depending on the type of shed you get, assembly can take anywhere from one hour to several hours, with 2-3 people helping out. Typically, wood sheds take longer, and plastic, resin, and vinyl sheds are the quickest.
Question: Do your sheds have floors?
Answer: While some of our sheds come with a built-in base, most do not. Many people don't have a need or a desire for a base to their shed, so many of our sheds come without a floor. However, if you would like a base in your shed, we do offer base kits and floor frame kits for our backyard sheds, so you can customize your shed to suit your needs.
Question: What accessories do you have available for your backyard sheds?
Answer: We have several accessories available for our sheds. We have base kits to add a floor to your shed, shelving kits for extra storage, and hanging kits to help you get organized. We also have roof strengthening kits and anchoring kits, to make your backyard shed even more sturdy and secure. You can even grow your shed with an extension kit!
Question: Do backyard sheds require building permits?
Answer: This depends on both the size of your shed, as well as your city's local laws and regulations. If you are unsure whether or not you need a permit for your shed, you should call your city's planning and zoning office.
